Greetings
Hello everyone,
Been lurking for a while on this forum now, just learning everything I can about mustangs and enjoying all of your conversations. I would like to ask all of your opinions about a mustang im looking into buying, so I can start particiapting in the forums and stop just lurking .
Its a 1996 Mustang Gt, 4.6L v8 obviously, 5 speed with 85,000 miles. Black with grey cloth interior, and every option except leather int and sunroof. Clutch was replaced 10k miles ago, and brakes 15k miles ago. A few mods, but mainly stock other than flowmaster catback and a Cervinis Stalker 2 front bumper, plus custom headlights and taillights (He said he would also give me the stock parts since the new ones are of questionable legality)
Hes asking 5500 for the car, and everywhere I go it seems to overall be a good deal, would just like your expert opinions before going to look at the car. If all seems to check out, I may be joining you guys a fellow mustang owner soon . Thanks for reading, nice to meet you all, and have a good day

RE: Greetings
it's got pretty low miles for a 96, and as long as it seems to drive fine and doesn't have any leaks...seems like a good deal. Hope you end up getting it so you can join the mustang family

RE: Greetings
Hash, do you mean problem wise or just performance wise? I agree the hp and torque arent up to todays standards, but atm I am unable to afford to buy a newer and better performance engined car, about 6k is my max I can spend so im trying to find my best bang for my buck basically. Pony, hes mid 20's but from when I have spoken to him he seems like a good guy, and the car seems to have been kept in good condition and not had the crap beaten out of it. Thanks for the info demon, I agree on the miles, its good to get a lower miles car esp at this price

I don't think that the 96-98's have any more/less factory problems than new edge's do. At least besides the stock intake manifold...
Good luck on the car Zanador. It sounds like a good deal. You wouldn't be able to find a new edge that cheap, and with a PI swap (which you can do for fairly cheap) you'll be pushing somewhere around the same hp as a stock new edge.

What hash is talking about is the 99-04 4.6 had the PI(performance improved)heads and intake. This was a big jump in power over the 96-98 4.6,you could always upgrade to the pi set-up down the road when you get alittle cash to perform more upgrades.
