ORIGINAL: s4697wrong section but... those ls1 are quick, by brother in law has a auto 02 ws6 ram air and that thing never stops pulling all the way to 140. its amazing. oh well. hopefully this will give u even more modivation to get ur s/c. kinda sad had majority of the time we need f/i to beat them.
Well we have a heavy car relatively and just 281 NA c.inches. Not even room in the chambers for much larger valves as it is the head that is the weak link. You hung with him for a little so that's respectable for the mods you have. Congrats for trying him! mark

The interesting thing is the automatic (4L60E I think) tranny on the LS1 are about as fast as the manual 6 speeds.., whereas on our cars (new edge GTs) the auto loses a few tenths ET compared to the 5 speed. Their trannies are alot better I think, not to mention the LS1 which is an amazing motor.

I never street race, too dangerous., but if I did I know I'd get spanked by an LS1, probably even the LT1s too.
nahhh...u woudnt lose to an lt1

Ls1 f bods weigh more than the equivilent mustang (coupe to coupe, vert to vert)

ive beat quite a few ls1's. as a matter of fact i took a ws6 on the interstate the other night. from a 50 roll up to 120. i jumped about a half a car and then we were within a hairs length aprt in the end. and he wasnt stock he had an exhaust and cai. but dont underestimate the ls1. they are beasts especially on the top end. get em on the interstate and they dominate.....most of the time
I think you ran into one with the bad driver mod, either that or its an auto with the 2.73 rear gear and you caught him in a bad RPM.

My buddies LS1 auto/2.73/coupe with t tops (re: slowest coupe) was still a great race when he was stock (still is) compared to my full boltons/cams/gears etc. If we started at the right speed it was neck and neck all the way to the top of 4th gear.

I had a late model WS6 start revving next to me last week........IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. [sm=badidea.gif] Considering discretion is the better part of valor, i acted like I didn't even see him. First off, my brother had a WS6 so I know first hand what they can do so I knew I had no chance with my limited mods. Secondly, heavy traffic (re. rush hour) isn't the place or the time to acting like a fool. Obviously I didn't race him, but I could almost hear the pony on the grill cry. I even had tears of washer fluid on the windshield. [sm=smiley19.gif]
