Default Beat a Mach 1!!!

just wondering how much power or what times a fully bolted-on mach 1 would have? also, what would i need (2002 GT 5speed) to be able to beat him? this winter im buying 4.10's, mac prochamber with flowmaster catback, SCT tuner, jlt cold air intake. i know that wont do it, but what else should i be looking at?

Only chance you have is nitrous... his is probably well over 300 rwhp. (probably around 310-320)

EDIT - And a good set of drag radials, race from a stop. and be the better driver.

He has a 50HP advantage on you from the start. Probably a bit more as a stock 4.6 is about 225WHP and the Mach 1's I have seen are around 280-290WHP, both stock. Mach 1 has 3.55's so 4.10's are an advantage but not huge so I might consider 4.30's but I am not sure what the 5-speeds have for final drive in 5th gear. Do you know what RPM"s you turn at a specific speed like 2000 @ 65mph or at 75mph, actually the cruising speed you usually drive at? With my automatic I turn 2500 @ 65mph and nearly 3000 at 75 but I could have gone with 4.30's. Honestly you need to get a SC and the entry KenneBell looks nice at $4K and it runs 6psi and adds 43.5% to your base HP. Catted x-pipe did not do much for me nor did UDP's and my PYPES catted X-pipe and catback were not worth the $700. they cost me installed. I like the JLT CAI though and of course get a custom tune like Brent at Brenspeed soes, 3 custom tunes for 3 octane levels for YOUR mods. He told me he has done so many of them that he is very close to what a dyno tune would do. TB/plenum was $300. and UDP's $180. KB comes with it's own intake pipe though not CAI I believe they offer it.
The Mach 1 was tested quicker than the Cobra's because of it's live axle instead of IRS.
Yep, power adder as bolt ons will not do it and I would not tear into the motor unless I had to. www.karking.com is selling Mach 1 motors for automatics for $3900, new motors! Good Luck, mark

I was told yes by a guy who put a new 5.4liter 3valve into his. He said the harness and our accessories would bolt up and no change in nthe harness but the ECM would need a new chip or be reflashed. Worth looking into for that price as you could sell the shaker scoop that comes with it at that price! Mark

The 2v heads will never match up with the 4v heads of the Mach.
You could simply add a SC for $4K. That would do it and you would not have to pull a motor at all. Pump gas too. Mark
