Default Driver Side Window Problems

Anyone out there have issues with the driver side window not staying on the track? I have a 2000 GT which it appears the window scissor arms have broken plastic pieces on one end which ride in the track. This has caused the window to be misaligned, which then caused the pressed bearing to detach from the bar attached to the window itself. Now it appears I have to replace the whole window mechanism, along with the window to the tune of $540 if someone else does it. Anyone else have this problem?

There is are a couple of TSB's I have found online at www.carcomplints.com:

VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD
TSB #15205 -- SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT THE DOOR GLASS COMING OFF OF THE WINDOW TRACK. *TT (NHTSA ID #625732, SEPTEMBER 01 2001)
VISIBILITY:GLASS, SIDE/REAR
TSB #15178 -- SOME VEHICLES EXHIBIT THE DOOR GLASS POPPING OFF TRACK. *YH (NHTSA ID #624711, AUGUST 01 2001)
TSB #14826 -- SOME VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT INOPERATIVE DOOR GLASS DUE TO THE WINDOW REGULATOR REAR TRACK ROLLER BREAKING OFF OF THE WINDOW STUD. *TT (NHTSA ID #619318, APRIL 01 2001)

Anyone have any input on how to permanently solve this problem?

So, has this fixed the problem? I'm a little concerned in the fact that there are TSB's out there which specifically state the problem, yet no real resolution appears anywhere I have looked.

The fact that ford knows there is a problem, but says "Oh well, only under warranty" leads me to believe I need to be looking elsewhere for a replacement or manufacturing my own.

Thought maybe a few more people may have run into similar problems with this.

Default RE: Driver Side Window Problems

I will try to help on this (since I had the same problem). The '99 to '02 model Mustangs used a different epoxy to keep the windows in the track. This epoxy (over time and incorrect door closure....using the window to close the door) will break free and your window will come off the track. I tried to use RTV to seal it back, but the sealant is too spongy and broke again weeks later. Ultimately, I went to a bud of mine at a Glass shop and he pulled the window and railings out, resealed them with some bad *** black sealant. Run me about 200.00 for everything. So far so good.......... Hope this helps you out
