why are GT's 6inch higher than 6ers?

why are GT's 6inch higher than 6ers?
i looked in my mustang book & says ur GT's are 6inch higher than 6ers but the body size is the same so even if you lowered you GT by 6inch it would still only be as low as a stock sixer. is that true???

six inches, lol, if u put a six inch lift on a truck that is a huge lift, I dont even think that the mustang has six inches of ground clearance at stock height, lol. We maybe 1 inch higher off the ground because the GT's have 17 inch wheels, and the V6's have 16 inch wheels

yeah my mom has a 6er and my car sits a lil higher than hers. it definatly feels higher when i drive it. I really dont know why and it cant be the rims because she has 18s on it, but then again the tires are really low profile
