Alternators & torque converters

Alternators & torque converters
I own a 04 mt gt with very little done to it and am wondering if it would be too early to replace the alternator, trq converter with better aftermarket parts. I intend too only get this car up to the 500-550 hp mark to maintain driveability. Second question, once ina while the gt doesnt start right off the bat. The engine has to turn over a couple times before it starts and am wondering if anyone has any input as what could be the problem and how to fix it.

How many miles? Stall converter wouldn't be a bad idea to get a little more oomph in off-th line situations.
As for the starting, turn the key to 'on' and wait a second or two before continuing to 'start' and see how it reacts.

Don't worry about the alternator.
IMO, 4.10's won't hurt you that much on the highway. Don't know for sure about the auto, but a manual would only turn the engine in the mid 2k's, which isn't bad at all. I'm not sure if the auto has the same .68 OD or not.
