Default another rant

today i went out into the garage and popped my hood and just looked around my engine, seeing where everything goes to and what not and got to thinking, for the time that it looks like it would take to do little things to our engines like underdrive pullies, is that kinda stuff even worth it or what? and is there any book or anythign like that i can buy to help me gain some more knowledge of our type of engines, like where stuff is and what it is?

The link below is probably what your looking for, i'm not sure. Pretty decent reference though, and its what most of my buddies use.

I often think if putting money into the Stang is worth it, and I think it all comes down to personal preference. For me, its not worth it. I can't see putting all sorts of money into a car just to make it a second or two faster......and I don't think the GT will ever really be "fast".
I'm more into the looks......"all show, and no go" if you will. If I wanted a fast car, I would have started with a Cobra or a Z28/SS.

If you honestly are wanting to get any level of respectable power out of your 96 whatsoever you should forget everything else until you get a PI swap/new PI engine. The NPI heads/cams/intake simply sucks all of the life out of the car. You could literally have a couple grand into boltons and still have almost nothing to show for it horsepower/ET wise.

If I had a NPI car my first concern would be finding a junkyard 99+ 2v with a low milage motor.

well yeah that's why i was looking at my engine stuff in the first place, i found heads/intake a guy is selling from his 01 stang and i wanted to install it all myself, but when i looked at it it's just a mess of wires and tubes all ontop of the motor and i'm sitting there thinking, "i do not want to do this myself" hah
