Hi Everyone

Here is my story…. I have a 96GT and it turns out that the differential cover got messed up while I was away in Afghanistan…… Well the oil leaked out and the gears and cover are no bueno anymore…..

What to do...... buy the gears $200, Diff. cover Trick Flow $140, and the rebuild kit $80, thus costing about $400 shipped OR buy the whole Ford Racing axle assembly $800 @ JEGS…..

Is there stuff in the assembly that wear out and are worth the extra 400 / 500 extra bucks…. Please help me out even if it is with simple one or the other option

Any other suggestions ????

If your housing is bent, find an IRS near you for sale. I wish I would have dont that when I F'd up mine...

Sucks at drag racing, breaks easy, and weighs more, whats to like?

Yeah yeah, I know the handling/ride is better, but unless your a circle track fan...

Brown, if I were you I would look into the FRPP setup that has the hardened 28 splines that are supposed to be better than the stockers the 99-04 cars came with.

pick up the latest issue of MM&FF (muscle mustangs and fast fords) they have a 10+ page article all about the 8.8 and stuff you can to do strenghten it and make it better.

I have to buy parts NOW and I don't know which option to go and the mechanic wants to get my car out of his garage
