I give it a few seconds if im in my garage (til the rpms drop to 700 anyawy)

When I'm at a parking lot I wait a minute or so then I just drive steadily below 3K til the temp reaches normal

ORIGINAL: DesertMach

I usually start the car and let the idle drop down which takes about 30 seconds, then I head out. But I dont run it hard till it reaches normal operating temps....
I do this exactly same thing. I accually found out that my car shifts better the clutch feels better its just all around better if i don't warm it up. I used to go out in the morning start her up and smoke a cig and usually after i was done the car was okly warmed up but, i've found out that i just wait for the needle to drop to the normal area then i take off and just ride normal until shes warmed up. I never go into boost when its not at normal operating temp.

I crank it up and go, I don't get on it till it reaches normal operating temps though.

I should probably say I dont drive this car every day.. or anywhere near it. When I start it up,I usualy pull it out of the garage and go over the top with a lint roller, or wipe the car down real quick. Its still another 5 - 10 min of driving before I get on it hard at all. The car only comes out when I feel like cruising in it or feel like going hunting for a race. Ive driven it to work a total of 2 days in the last month.
