2002 8.8 Rear convert to 4 lug
Can anyone tell me if this can be done? I can get ahold of a 2002 Mustang 8.8 rearend and it is a 5 lug disc rear. I wish to convert it to a 4 lug pattern and maintain the rear discs. Is this just a matter of locating some 4 lug 8.8 axles, shortening them to fit and popping them in? Or is this not possible and why?
Thanks for your help.

post this up in the trade/freebie section and maybe in 5.0 (although it should be moved), i know there's some foxes that would love you right now, you should have no problem swappin out anything from hubs the the entire rear end...and you should get it fairly cheap

I am not trying to "pass judgement' just help ya out.
So long as you know its gonna suck in every way if you do this, I guess you know all you can.
Like I said, I am sure you could swap out with a foxbody guy, although the axles are supposed to be different length, so you would have to do something about that. I am about 90 percent sure that its not a direct swap, so I could be wrong.
I can guarentee there isn't a kit or anyone selling anything to do this.
Seriously, just out of pure curiousity, why are you8 doing this?

The reason I am doing this is simple...So please...NO HATERS!!!!
I was told that the 8.8 was one of the best high power capable rear ends out there. I agree. Parts are available everywhere and the possibilities are endless.
I can get this rear end cheap, and I will have to modify it for leaf springs since it is going into my turbo powered RWD rice burner. I would like to keep driving it on the street and continue to use my factory original 4 lug rims.
