in addition to shorter throws, does it make the trans feel tighter?

Alot of guys complain that the stock shifter isnt comfortable. With the MGW, it has a shorter-longer adjustment as well as a 180 around adjustment for what you like. So you could raise or lower it and angle it toward you for more comfort. So another reason to get the MGW... plus 3rd is easier to hit and it is more fun to drive with

Yeah it is pretty uncomfortable. The 1-2 shift is a LONGGGG throw too. I feel like I'm rowing a boat. Cannot wait to get my MGW., where is a good place to buy it? I heard someone say you can get a good deal directly through MGW and it comes with a free gasket?

You can pick them up on ebay for $100. I got the steeda, but Ive also had the hurst and the pro 5.0. I like them all. Monkeydude, it does make the transmission "feel" tighter, but really doesnt make anything tighter as far as the tolorances go. I love mine. It even sound cool when you hit the metal stoppers.

Cool I'll have to check on ebay. Hmm, now which of these three are better:

- Pro 5.0 shifter
- Steeda Tri-Ax
- MGW

All are about the same price. The nice thing about the MGW is that it has an adjustable handle., while the Steeda has the 2-3 guide so you never miss that shift., plus it has extra reinforcements to protect the tranny if you "overshift". Pro 5.0 looks to be solid as well, and some guys swear by them on this board. Oh, decisions decisions.

Short throw shifter brands is about like trying to tell someone which exhaust setup they should run... its really a matter of opinions. I've been able to drive a car with the steeda and one with the MGW. I preferred the MGW because, 1. The shifter was smoother and the steeda was so notchy that I didn't like it. 2. I could adjust the MGW to what I was comfortable with more than I could with Steeda.

Any of those are good shifters, just from my experience... I would reccomend the MGW.
