It will wear the fan out alot quicker, and besides the fan doesnt do much good anyways once you get up to speed. Also, the way the wiring is setup (so no power runs through the switch), you trick the ecu into thinking the a/c is on... which will mess with the idle etc. It won't "hurt" anything, but you dont wanna run it with the car running.

hmmm, i c, ive been runnin with the car on all day! seems to be ok, see i have a problem cuz my temp sensor isnt in the right place cuz of the pi swap and it doesnt tell the fan to come on so i figured id set this switch and jus wen im in stop go traffic or somthn of that nature id flip it on

we always took on of those big dyno fans to cool our cars down. every time i would put it on mine, my car would run like **** until it heated up again. unlike other vehicles, my mustang doesn't like to be cooled down. she does run a hellov alot better hot.
