I redline that bitch at least once a day. I let her tack all the way up to 7 grand be4 i drop her into the next gear.
Oh wait, i actually drive mine like a grandma, i spend most of my time on the highway and i normally curse at about 65 70.

I drive my 97 GT every day of the week, all year long and I beat on it around once MAYBE twice a week. Usually on the weekends or when someone on the road is driving stupid and it irritates me. These cars are tough, and they want to go fast. If you want to beat on it, then do it! If something breaks, look at it as a time to upgrade that particular part

I wouldn't really call it beating on my car, but I will get the RPMs up to 6,800 in first and second (sometimes in 3rd) at least a couple of times a week. I would say that as long as you don't put slicks on the car, rev it up to 5,000 and then drop it in gear... or do away with the gas shut off before red-line and often go out beyond there... or rev it up in neutral to the red-line showing off...or running the car hard while it is still warming up to operating temp... or neglect to change the oil when you should... or... As long as a person doesn't go off and do some of the aforementioned, the car can take it just fine. It can even be good for the car to get out there and spread out its wings and fly some, by keeping carbon from building up in the engine.

seeing as the engine is the next item on the chopping block... as in coming out next year.... yeah I let it have it about every time I drive it. however I do let it get to operating temp before I do rail on it. And now i run 10/40 oil with additive to slow down the smoke, so it runs a bit cooler too in spite of the beatings
And yeah I know it's only an NPI but it does scream and does make me smile

I agree with an above poster, I bought this car partly for that reason. I dont get on it every time I drive, it only happens for the occasional ricer, or if I just feel like opening her up for a bit. Usually only consists of 0->90mph runs, but it makes me happy. Recently Ive been babying it for some reason. Come to think about it......I havent gone WOT in about 8 days. Damn.....thats dissappointing....
