Default turbocharged?

hey guys i have a question. I have been looking at superchargers for the past month or so and cant decide what to buy. Now my dad has a 87' buick grand national(FAST!!!) pushin 550 to the wheels. anyway we got talkin about my car and he mentioned that he still had the stock turbo off the buick, and that i could have it for like 50 bucks. Ok basically my question is how much harder is it to setup a mustang for a turbo than say a vortech. also how much boost can i run on it and where can I get the stuff to set it up. like the Headers, piping, etc. Thanks in advance.

If you have stock inernals you may be better off with a supercharger

Basically if you don't own or have a friend that owns a fabrication shop just forget about trying to fab up your own turbo setup.

You (or anyone with basic mechanical knowledge) can install a supercharger setup in their garage with a basic set of hand tools. I did this myself.

I would never attempt to install a turbo setup in my garage, cause the car would never run again

+1 on this. Turbo's tend to be a lil more harder to set up than a supercharger. Unless you are a really great garage guru, I wouldn't try to handle that yourself. I would say just get you a supercharger and its supporting mods, and get yourself a good safe dyno tune and enjoy what you got.

and not only all of that...but do you really want the stock turbo off an 87 grand national on your stang? and if you go with newer turbo's, they're more expensive than a s/c
