Default Another Tire size question

What's up everyone? My girl is going to get me new tires for b-day/xmas. My friend just got a set of BFG G-force KDW and they are bad a$$ and I was thinking of getting a set of those or the Goodyear GS-D3's. Another friend had them ba dhe liked them a lot too. Kinda torn.

What would you recommend?

My question is what is the biggest I can put on the back and on the front. I have a 2003 GT with the Bullit style wheels, I believe they are 8.5 wide. I would like to order them in the next week or so. I would like to go as wide as I can on the back and front. I always liked the handling of a car better with slighlty wider tire, seemed to give a little more feed back.

Thanks!

I would go w/ 245,275... I have 9" wide tires and had plenty of room. I know someone on here put 275's on stock rims. If you really want wide tires in the front, the biggest I would go is 255 for turning/rubbing issues.

P.S. I love my nitto 555's

I just put some 275/40's on the rear of my stock 17x8's. I think if I wanted I could go alittle bigger...

As for the fronts I wouldn't go bigger than 245, you might start rubbing when you crank your wheel. Oh yeah, don't forget if you do this - you won't be able to rotate your wheels and it might make your pocket change evaporate quickly if you like do donuts or fly around corners...

I have 285s all around, i wouldn't recommend it though ( a sales rep at Steeda suggested it to me). It doesn't rub in the front but there isn't much of a point of having such large tires in the front. I did it so I could rotate my tires . I Would suggest like 245 front and 275 rear on stock wheels.

LOL Dan, i just got done washing the car and the fronts aren't even close to the wear indicators, but the rears have been at them for awhile. All and all I plan on just replacing all four.

If I go with the 245's on the fronts they would have to be 40's to have the same tread pattern as the rear. BFG made two diffierent patterns for the KDW's. I want the 40 series pattern[8D].

This time it won't be my change but my girls, who knows maybe I will make it a yearly gift, LOL.

Thinking I will go with the 275 and the 245 BFG's really like them. Don't really need them till next spring anyway. The car will make it to winter no prob and out of storage before I really need them anyways.

Thanks for the info.
