2003-2004 Cobra
Is there any problem areas with new cobras? I'm planning on trading my car in on one soon. Does it have the transmission issues the 3650 on GT has?

Where do we start? J/K!
There were a lot of issues with the 03 year. Especially the earlier run ones. There was a problem with a Head Tick, clunking from the rear, stall issues, and steering noises.
The 04's were supposed to be better, but some still suffer the steering noises. Most of these items were an easy fix though.
In 03, Ford had quite a bit of TSB's out, but I think they got more right with the car than wrong. Most people don't experience any of these issues, but just inspect the car you are buying.
Overall, it is an awesome car that is very fun to drive.

the only big problems so far have been rear axle shafts and transmission imput shafts, wich drag racers making 600+ hp have been breaking. they have upgrade parts for them though. but for a street car, you can't buy a better machine.
all cars have issues, there isnt a car on the street that wont ever break down or have some kind of problems. but you can't go wrong with a cobra.

I am also considering buying one, what PSI is the Eaton SC from the factory? Is it intercooled? Is it centrifugal, and can the pulley be changed easily and if so does it require a tune? I ran against a 03 w only pulley change and cat back, dude ran 11.98 on street tires.

If I buy this car I'm going to want to keep it for awhile. I'm thinking I'm just going to put into a K&N filter in it. It really expensive and it became one of those dream car to me after I bought my Gt. Kind of funny because I wasn't going to buy a mustang until I drove one and I was sold. It more fun to drive than a STI and a SRT-4(which I was planning on buying). After seeing these Cobras in action and driving one I just thought you can't touch it for the money. All the controls seem to be old but who cares. This is one sweet ride.

Hey RJM,
I just registered today and I am honored to answered your question. The cobra has a compresson ratio of 8:5:1. HP rating of 390 @ 6000 RPM and 390 ft lbs tq @3500 rpm. It has a displacement of 4.6 281 ci, but some might argue the blower gives it 393. Eaton Corporation Generation IV Roots-type supercharger with water-to-air intercooler produces 8 lbs psi. And i am pretty sure that the pulley size is 3.25 inches. Need anything else just ask.
I own a 03 white cobra
you wont be dissapointed at all if you bought one.

Hi Ducks, and welcome to the site. The stock pulley size is 3.65 inches.
RJM, like Duck said they are rated at 390/390. But most think they are underated asmost stock cars put down in the 370 range. Mine put down 381/374 when stock.
A Densecharger or K&N FIPK seem to be the most popular CAI, and coupled with a good cat-back will put you around 400 to the wheels.
You will need a tune with most any pulley swap. Changing the pulley is fairly easy, and requires the use of a special puller. Most also change their plugs.
With my swap, I got a 2.8 R&R pulley, 100 mm Metco Idler Assembly, Denso Plugs, and a custom SCT dyno tune. The car was fast before, but now is completely different.
