Well next year I'm gonna be doin some engine work and was told I should get it dyno tuned for the best results. Anyone know of a good dyno tuner shop in the northern IL/ chicagoland area?

Also, I don't know much about dyno tuning... do I have to buy the handheld, and then take it to the shop and have them set it up properly?

There is one next to the Cordova Dragway, in Cordova Illinois. That is the closest one to me. How much does a dyno tune usaully cost??

I'm not sure, I think for a simple tune it's at least $100, and from what I have read on this forum, when you start doing either interal modifications or forced induction, it's a GREAT IDEA to tune it.

Those should all be able to get the job done, theres also speedinc in Shaumburg. As for the handheld, I would imagine if you are gettting it dyno tuned they would have there own or do it on the computer, but call and find out first, Good Luck!!

Theres a newer shop in Fox River Grove at 22 and 14. I forget what its called, but they have a website with rates and everything on it. I'll post it if i remember.

I went in for a quote on a clutch install, and was quoted 300. Not too bad. The guy there also used to work at a ford dealer and seemed to know his **** about mustangs. I would go there if I was in need of dyno tuning.
