Default Kit installed

Got my shift kit installed today. Very satisfied. I feel like i'm driving a different car now. Love it. I was wondering though, I know a shift kit doesn't add and hp but how much do you think it would shave off of my 1/4 mile times?

idk gonna have to take it down and try it out! Made a big difference for my buddy. He has a FBO 04 auto and after he did the shift recal it cut a lot of time off.

Yeah i would highly recommend it. I bought mine for the same price. I think it came out to like 103 or something like that. It's recommended that you buy a transcooler to keep the tranny from getting too hot. This kinda scared me but after some research and asking others here on the forums i heard the transcooler isn't a hard core necessity. Good to have but you'll be just fine without one. I don't have one but i might consider getting one in the future. So yeah, all you need is the kit, nothing else. What this kit does is make your shifts more firm. Before this kit my stang couldn't bark if my life counted on it. Hell, now it gets a little side ways when shifting. It has firm, quick shifts now. It'll throw you back in your seat a bit. I love it man. It's so great to hear the tires chirping when it shifts. I'm at work right now and all i can think about is the drive home. haha. You should get one man. I've said it before and i'll say it again YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!

yeah it goes in the tranny but you don't have to drop the tranny or anything like that. It goes int he valve body. You just take off the transmission pan and there's the valve body. The kit consists of a few springs and other little parts you have to replace. Unless you're pretty mechanicaly inclined i'd just take it to a mechanic who knows what they're doing. Like i said I got mine installed for 215 which included the fluid/filter change. If you know someone who's done it before and you guys have atleast a day to kill then go for it. But if you're like me and have no time, take it to a mechanic. It only took him a little over 2 hours. I called about 6-7 transmission shops before i found the cheapest.

wait... will this mean I'll have to manual shift it I.E. 1-2-D????? or will it still shift normally while in D... i don't want a manual valve body.... just a shift kit...
