Default My 600$ supercharger!!!

Oh well yeah just like you read it ...i have a 97 gt and i picked up a supercharger from my friend, he used to have it on his 98 gt and wrecked his car so he needed some quick cash...so i made him a stupid offer and he took it...yup 600 BUCKS...it has no more than about 500 miles on it...nothing is wrong with it either...but i do have one question my car is pretty much stock.. besides K&N CAI and BBK 70mm throttle body..but motor is stock...will my motor be able to take the supercharger or should i just wait and get the PI SWAP...i need some opinions..thanks

The PI swap raises your compression so its not always the best idea on a FI setup.

What supercharger is it? What all did it come with? Its a great deal either way, unless its a powerdyne

Powerdyne FTW!!!! J/k, yeah, I would also like to know what type of S/C it is, just to see how good of a deal you got.

2000GT4.6, how much power do the Powerdyne Chargers make on a stock GT? I seen a fox for sale with a Powerdyne, that thing sounded badass and looked badass, but it had cams and a full exhaust, it was listed as "FAST".

Its not the powerlevels that suck, its the crappy design and quailty of powerdyne. Almost everyone I have ever talked to that had one has had it back in a number of times for rebuild.

Paxton is a quality named S/C, you got one hell of a deal. When do you plan on installing it and getting tuned? Let us know when you do I'm lookin to see what kind of #'s your putting down.

The non PI should handle a moderate amount of boost. I don't think I'd go beyond 8 psi. Thats just speculation since I don't know much about the non PI 4.6's. Just make sure you have it tuned properly. Find a good dyno shop in your area and hook it up. Hell of a deal by the way. I base all the info and advise I give on this site on what other members tell me. I see that you're a noob to the site, welcome and enjoy your stang. There are a bunch of good folks on here with a plethora of info.

Speaking of Paxton Novi's my buddy sold one on eBay a few months ago for like $1200.00!! It was for a 5.slow and needed to be rebuilt! People were bidding like crazy on a damn broken supercharger we didnt expect to get more than $600.00 for!

Not that this has to do with the topic, but SmallFeesh, do you have Cobra emblems on the side of your GT?
