Default Exhaust Compliments

Just like the title says, I got a compliment on my exhaust about 30 minutes ago on my way to work. It was by another guy with an 04 GT with the Saleen bodykit. He was like, "that thing sounds badass, what you got on it"? So I told him I had the 1 chambered Flowmasters and o/r h-pipe and he was saying he's gonna have to get that done. So then I asked him what he had, he said his buddy cut off his mufflers and he has straight pipe, I was thinking ouch, that's gotta suck for his torque, but nonetheless I was happy about my compliment, and to think just yesterday I started a thread about switching to SLP LM1's, but now I dont think I want too.

Many People Diss on flows until they hear the way they sound on a stang. I think the worst sounding flows I've heard were on a civic hatchback with a big fart can tip.

I dont know if it's gonna be the Civic I look at differently or the Flows. That kinda hurts the Flowmaster name when its put on cars like this.

It doesnt hurt your tq at all.

Magnaflows and SLP are basically straight thru mufflers. I have pics somewhere where you can see the light thru my magnaflows, and the magnapacks really are just a straight open tube with insulation around them.

I like the way flowmasters sound, but when I acutally do drive my car I take it to my hometown 2+ hours away, and that dammed drone just drove me CRAZY

I thought straight pipes hurt your torque because the lack of back pressure? I know when I was in the process of installing my h-pipe and had my exhaust unbolted at the mufflers, that thing was laggin so damn bad I felt like I was drivin a 1.6L SOHC Civic or something.

anyone know where to find some soundclips of these 1 chambered flowmasters?

I've got 40 series delta flows, and I'm not really sure how I feel about them[&:]. Looking for something new to weld in.

Well after I put my O/R H and my LM1s it turned out I had some Flowmaster 40s(Looked like them but bolted on to the stock 2.25" H) and they sounded fine with the stock H. Not loud but they weren't as raspy as my LM1s are. Well my friend took one and put it on his 240. It's crazy because it gives the car a deeper tone without that high pitchness that 4 cylinders tend to have. Gave it some muscle
