well get the internals installed - not a VT or wutever engine - its cheaper and better to get it built, it will hold more power - but buying a motor is not too much more expensive... and it all depends on who is puting it together for u

ive got 130k on mine and it still runs like a beast. Did a compression test a while back and it was almost perfect. Even for 8500 ft.

Mines got just over 110k and still runs like new. No oil usage, compression is perfect, etc. These mod motors will last forever if you take care of them. We have patrol cars in my dept. that have over 200k and still run fine, and those things get ran like crazy. Were just really careful about routine maintinence.

yeah that is a good point. If you take care of a car ad maintain it, it should fun for as long as anything out their. I would just love to have the reliability of knowing my car only has like 30K on her lol.

Various from state to state and even city to city. In other words, it depends on where you live.

Thats pretty much it. Here in east TX I've never even heard of anyone checking for emissions. In some of the larger cities like Houston, they do check for it.

Friends 02 Gt has over 180k and still strong. No leaks, smoke or anything. (A motor will last as long as you let it) Trans on the other hand had been replaced 2 times!!

I think these engines last a long time if you're nice to them. Nice to them = you keep the fluids fresh and don't beat the hell out of it too much. How much "too much" is is hard to say, but I generally don't go to redline more than once a week. Usually less, and I've had zero problems with the engine (I'm at 96k miles).
Its not necessarily that taking it to redline is bad for it. Running the Engine high in the revs helps keep it clean and can actually cause less problems in the future. Its when people sit on the rev limiter or have low fluids etc. that is hurts it. My mechanic has a 740i BMW that he redlines almost every time he drives it. It still runs strong with 250,000 miles on it.

Like everybody else says, its all in the way you maintain it.
