alright, i got the dtc5284 code ,failing oil pressure switch, is this bad, what do you do to correct it?

 

do you have a handheld scanner or did you use the test gauge thing on the dash? and also was the car on?

alright, now my oil guage was going all wacky, jumping from zero to normal then back but my engine and oil pump r brand new, the oil sender unit thing was the culpret, i just replaced it today, had to go to ford for the part all of the car "zones" part stores had this crazy bolt/nut looking one that diddnt fit, mine needed a clip, ford fortunatly had one i put it in today, and now the guage needle works perfect, . so that code basically gets tripped cause when you start the test, your car if off, and there is no pressure, tripping the code? jw thanks dude for all your help , dan04cobra for president!!!!
