Default Spark Plug Blow Out Question

Luckily (knock on wood) this has not happened to me, but it scares the sh_t out of me. Can anything be done to prevent this besides making sure they are tight every so often? I don't want to torque them down too hard for fear of jacking the aluminum threads. How tight would you have to crank them to screw the threads up?Anybody have any tips on this?

Just make sure you're running the new Motorcraft plugs - AGSF-32C (copper or AGSF-32P (platinum). The old plugs were the AWSF-32's and they got redesigned with more threads and a larger shoulder for the plug to bite into in the head so they stay tight.

Adding threads to a plug will not fit in a stock head nor will it fix the problem!

no, not wrong! please explain how to get a 10 tpi screw in a 8 tpi hole? you would have to change the threads in the head to do any good. You just can't add threads to a plug... it won't fit.

I guess Motorcraft decided to add threads for no good reason then. Someone should tell them.

Go here - http://www.bullittarchive.com/WebHel...ittArchive.htm click on "Mustang Maintenance" then the first topic is about the AGSF plugs.
