Default Accident Update

So I got word today that my car is a total loss.....So I need another car. I have decided that the next car I purchase will not be financed. Im 22 years old and ready to graduate so its time to start saving for a house and with no car payment I should be able to mod the car I get a little. So what do you guys think I should get. Im looking for a reliable dd that I can work on myself/learn from that I can buy for 7k or less so I dont have to finance anything.

How much damage did you have? I would say get a beater and buy your car back from the ins. company and save the money to fix it if you think it`s worth it. They total soo many fixable cars these days it`s unbelievable. They will sell it back to you for very cheap. Just my .02

actually what was the amount of damage? over here in canada the insurance sell it back to you for 1500$ (cnd) must be way cheaper in the states.. plus you find a body shop thats gonna charge youhave the labour and you can work your way there. but just expect to move your car around a lot with a towing, cause your cant drive it...

I guess you gave up on your other options from an earlier thread...
1.06GT
2.S/C V6
3.GTO
If you buy the GT back from Ins company...what will it need to fix it?

Go for a 94 cobra. Still has a 302 but has a newer look. It would be a great platform to start a performance build (if thats what ur wanting). Or try to find a 92-93 notchback and mod the hell out of it.

From the pics it doesnt seem to be enough body damage to total out the car so I am going to bet the sub-frames are twisted. Go with the foxbody its cheaper and cheaper to mod.
