Default Next idea... Input please

Going to sell my cobra in the spring. Got a couple ideas im stirring around. All haveing to do with, performance, ease of adding performance, overall cost, and insurance...

3 Cars to start with and my questions or issues I have with each

2000 Cobra. High insurance, est cost $15k
2000 GT. Want new motor, est cost $11.5k
2000 V6. Need whole new motor and drivetrain est cost $9.5k

Now with the GT or V6 I want to drop in a 32v 4.6. Whether it was N/A out of a 99-02 or a SC out of a 03-04. It would really just come down to cost and what I find first.

Would also be adding...
6 speed
Rear end (Cobra or V6 only, (for now))
AFR heads
Trick Flow Intake

Exhaust, Suspension, wheels and tires, brakes yadda yadda yadda will be replaced as well.

Does AFR make 32v heads?

Basically wanting to get an idea of whats cost effective.
Also somewhat of a main reason I want to sway away from the Cobra initially is because I plan on changing many of the body panels and all sorts of stuff and would hate to "destroy" or eliminate 1 cobra from existence just to make it not so much a Cobra at all.

no afr i dont think makes heads for the mod motors but all u need to do is port out het stock ones and u wil see great gains
if u go w/ a v6 plan on doin a lot more than just rear tranny and motor, think suspension and k member motor mounts i dont kno for sure if they work or not. Then you should be good

also by the way how much u sellin ur cobra for
i have been lookin for a sn95 cobra for a while

$9K asking, but anyone on here or someone that can bargain with me i'll do $8,500.

So maybe the idea of... Buying the GT pulling the motor, keeping it on the side for parts and what not or selling it if i need/want to. Drop in the 32v and go nuts. Checked insurance rates and the V6 to the GT was like $180 more every 6 months, so like $30 more each month, is worth it to A. Have some power till I get the motor swapped and B. not have to mod all the suspension and drivetrain.

If youve already got a cobra (sn-95 and Im guessing a 94-95 model based on taillights) just mod it and keep lower insurance. If you just absolutely wanting out of a 5.0 pushrod motor and looking to get into a modular motored car go for the 2000 cobra and get the 4v v-8.

The 99 was the only Cobra with the 2v V-8 I thought they didn't start the 32V until 03. Hmmmmm. I like mine just all the exterior mods, starting with a clean slate, not something thats been through 4 owners, sotck for the most part, knowing exactly whats done and on the car. Most of it's for peace of mind I guess.

All 4.6 cobras are 4 valves. 03 is when they put a supercharger on top of the 4v. the 03-04 mach 1 is also a 4v. 96-04 gts are the 2v mustangs. Actually, the cobra R was 2000, 2001, no cobra in 02, then 03-04 was the terminator. The years for the cobra were 93-99, 00 (R model w/5.4l), 01, and 03-04 (terminator w/ s/c).

edited after looking up the production lines of the cobra on muscularmustangs.

get the v6 and swap motors...
1) cheaper insurance
2) makes your car a sleeper.

I'd say go with a GT, that way you already have a stout rear to work with, a marginally strong trans, and the labor involved in "swapping" crap is always more of a PITA then you first think.

NARF! That thing looks horrible. I would have been better off with the assumption there was no 02 cobra. LOL
