Default shaking engine

my car crapped out on me the other day during acceleration and i had to get it towed back to my house and today i jst got back from a trip to mammoth and the car will start now but during the first few 1000 rpms of acceleration there is bad shaking coming from the engine it think but it shakes my entire car. im trying to figure out what is causing it and i was wonderin if anyone has had the same sort of problem i have a 01 Gt with cat back flows sct xcal and vortech v-1 s-trim thank you

it may be fuel related, possibly in the fuel pump. Have you run any tests or checked anything out?

its a 5 spd, do i need to get a bigger fuel pump than the one that came with my vortech kit to supply enough fuel

well you have a new fuel pump with your kit i doubt its the fuel pump cuz they usually give you 250lph fuel pump in the kit. My guess... its a spark problem. Spark plugs need to be changed and gapped. I dont know much bout stangs so its just a guess...

64,000 miles and i dont think the spark plugs have ever been changed, how could i tell if i have bad spark plugs that need to be changed

when i changed mine the tips were pitch black.. i guess that meant they were burnt[:-]

64,000 miles.... hmm might need a tune up pal. Spark Plugs, Fuel Filter, Air Filter (clean or buy new one)

When you change the plugs find some that are 1 heat range colder than the stockers. Did you put the S/C on or was it there when you got the car. Surely, whoever did the s/c install put new plugs in it.
