Default guess whose back :-)

Sup everyone! I've been away from this forum for quite a while, & wanted to see what's what now! Dan02, I see you've a new Stang in your sig! When you pick it up?

To keep this tech...I finally installed my FRPP 4.10's, Moser 31 spline axles, FRPP ltd slip trak-lok in my rear end! My reaction to the 4.10's in my car are no different than w/any other 4.6. THEY ARE REQUIRED on a 4.6! But with them so are DR's

I also removed the high flow cats from my Bassani x-pipe, & their is a noticeable difference in performance. The car sounds smoother seems to carry more bass w/the cats, but it it no doubt louder, & more raw sounding w/out them.

I'm running Amsoil 0w30, & can't complain one bit, except on one aspect. The Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil seemed to allow me to shift gears a bit smoother than the amsoil does, but maybe that is just me.

Let me know what new mods have been done, or cars that have fallen victim to everyone's Stangs!

Long time no speaka.

This is the same ol GT I had before man Maybe she will go bye-bye in the spring. We'll see.

I have to agree with ya about the 4.10 gears, get some decent traction and it feels like you gained an extra 50hp.

Welcome back Bubba! Last time you were here, I think I still had the '03 Black GT, which I traded for this one here. LOVE IT!! Just put Longtube headers and an O/R X on her this weekend and it sounds SO much better with my Magnaflows! REALLY DEEP and NASTY!

Glad to see your back...now get to postin!

Dan, those 4.10's are amazing on a 2V. On a 4V like a Cobra, or Mach 1 I'd even consider 4.30's! If you are considering parting w/it in Spring, is your eye on something else already?

Saleen S281...nice to meet ya bud. I used to be on this forum religiously, then I got busy lately, & decided to spend more of my summer traveling, & actually on the bike/in the car instead of always reading about them.

04 ShakinSteed, that is one NICE LOOKIN Mach 1! Did the model come compliments of the dealership, or did you have to pay for her seperate! What brand LT's, & x-pipe did u go w/? How long ago did u get it? Have u had it dyno'd yet?

Thanks GSX! I traded in my Black '03 in and they found me a White Mach 1...they had to go to NJ to get it, they are becoming rare. I went with BBK ceramic coated LT's and their matching O/R X pipe. I am very happy with the purchase. Makes the nice, deep sound I've been looking for out of my Mags. I got it on May 14th, so almost 4 months ago. So far I have the following mods..20% tint all the way around, Steeda Tri-Axe, C&L 85mm MAF, BBK LT headers and O/R X pipe, other appearance mods, and next is some gears.

Funny you told Dan about the 4.30's. I'm thinking that way, but 1st gear would be useless...unless I put some big wide fat DR's in the rear...hummmm???

I haven't dynoed it yet, hopefully soon. I'm taking her to the track soon to see what kind of times I can put down in the 1/4. I will post my results on the forum.

Good to have you back.

Well GSXR, I had my eyes set on a Mach1. Got the price down to 25,100 for a Competition Orange Mach 1. I had the loan papers signed and ready to return that day when I got my insurance quote for $3,600. I panicked, called the deal off and went home moaning and groaning at my insurance rates. It's been what...3 months and I've gotten the worst of my tickets removed from my driving record and my insurance is a whopping 750-800 a year FULL coverage for a 20 year old Not too shabby eh?

I'd like a Mach 1, but I'm sure they will virtually be non-existant come next spring. I'd go pick up a car now but I'm waiting on surgery for my knees, I've been out of work for roughly a month now, money might be tight this winter. [&:] I have my eye on a couple cars. I really have a soft spot for WS6's, but they are becoming hard to find here, not to mention you take it up the *** everytime one shows up on a lot here.

I've taken a good look at the GTO, it's one badass car - but it's a touch pricey. I'd like to spend under 27,000. This would be a whole lot easier if I didn't finance so much money for my GT. I'm going to be upside down 1500-2500 depending on how long I wait. But I sold a spare work truck to take care of that when it comes time to trade her in. I almost wish I didn't have my GT at the moment, I would be able to pick a Cobra or Mach 1 up from E-bay without any trouble. I need to trade in my GT and I can't fathom footing the bills waiting for it to sell..

4.10's or steeper need drag radials, or you will be spinning, & going nowhere fast. I automatically starved the dr's into my financial equation when I made the decision to buy the gear, so maybe you should too.

Dan, those insurance numbers can scare just about anyone. I would have waited too. Even though you passed up the first opportunity on the Mach 1, you'll no doubt get another if you search hard enough. As for the WS.6...you already know how I feel about that, & my story on passing up the Firehawk option in order to keep my bike, so no need to reiterate. I'll just say, that even though you have a soft spot, you know they are not getting any newer, so I'd steer away from them unless you just HAVE to have one. As far as the GTO, I think the interior is awesome, but the exterior lacks the muscle heritage. It sounds awesome though, but something about it lacks the muscle car DNA IMO. I'd wait, & try on another Mach 1. I think you will very happy w/the potential under that hood, & w/a solid axle you can scare some Cobras w/the mods I know you'd go for.

Okay, I got a 99 cobra, completely stock and want to get 4.10's put in. Where can I go to get drag radials and what's the biggest size tire I can get under the wheel well?
