Default Looking for VT Engine info..

I'm looking for some Technical info regarding VT short/long blocks, and/or info regarding their parts/specifications..

Right now, my goal is 500+ to the wheels, and unlike a lot of folks, this isn't a pipe dream... I'm starting to do some heavy research on what parts to use, reliably for just over 500hp.. 2v is my stock to work w/...

Any other recommendations/ideas/concerns are greatly accepted..

I know it'd be smarter to get a built block from them already, but I'm not going that route..

What do their stages mean, in terms of power?? Have any of you guys experienced any unusual wear using Forged/Billet stuff on a car that's driven more than just a Track queen??

I wish they had some spec sheets on their site, but realize that they use their info as proprietary..

Code: I'm assuming you have a VT set-up.. What stages, since you're mostly N/A?? What about any other competitors??

I built a aluminum short block hats good for 600rwhp for under 2350. You have to look for good deals and hop on it

I've seen quite a few ebay retailers selling Manley H-beams w/ pistons/rings for under $550.. I've also seen a kit that came w/ the journaled, Forged crank for under $1500 shipped... I'll be doing a lot of the "prep work," as in I'll be doing all of the assembly myself, and leaving the rest to a machine shop...

That's the key though, I'm doing just about all of the labor myself.. I'd even drive a few hours to pick up heads/parts, if it'd save me more money.. It's all because Vortech's can be expensive....

Other ideas??

VT is my shop of choice...
I have their St 2 heads and St 2 blower cams...i also purchased my forged manley pistons and rods from them. I am now debating whether to send my block to them to be bored and sleeved to 304ci but they are great guys. Give them a call or shoot them an email and they will take the time to answer every question you have. Thats one of the reasons i chose to give them my business.

We are VT Dealers and can get you anything you need including cam specs since we have them in all our cars and on the shelf. We have dyno tested a ton of mod motors and VT makes some of the best. We have also done a few of their billet rod motors with blowers making well over 700 rwhp. So far, no driving/mileage issues, but I don't know what to expect from Billet rods in a daily as they are usually only in the serious track cars.

We also offer a complete line of mod engines from kits to complete drop ins. We can help you with alot of the choices on parts to get the best bang for your buck. Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to answer from our Dyno experience thus far. 500 rwhp is pretty simple with a built bottom end, good luck and kill them bow-ties!
