How to get my cobra to hook with 4.10s?
Right now I have 315s in the back on some 03 cobra style wheels on my 96 cobra w/ 4.10s and It likes to spin anytime I try to launch, when the pavements cold, or arround turns. Basically Its a spin monster, I want to fix this before I boost becauise I cant even harness the power I have.
Whats a good setup To get this baby to hook on the street and the strip. I got some guys at work all gonna go soon so Id like to pull off some good times.

what kind of tires do you have?? sumitomos?? i spin with 4:10's in my gt. unless you have full drag suspension you cant really "luanch" the car you basically have to go easy in first then in the beggining of second. plus if its cold outside that doesnt help.

yes it has a solid rear axle....i would say some bfg drag radials....and as far as suspension. id go with some contol arms, lowering springs, subframe connectors. oooh and one more thing, feather the clutch itll help with spinning

how did u guess lol..
They are sumitumo 315s in the rear. When its cold It definately spins.
Control arms? Are we refering to the upper ones on the axle, and what kind of lowering springs should i get..
Can anyone recomend some brands for a good price for any of this stuff and a place to find it?
I plan on trying to get a set of beater rims with some slicks for the track But I still would like something decent for the steet.

DO NOT use lowering springs. Maybe in the front but for the back you will want drag springs. Subframes, Control Arms, Panhard Bar and some lakewood shocks/struts along with a BFG drag radial or some MT's will be the way to go

thats your problem right there. any other things you get will not solve the problem if you keep those damn sumitomos on. i took mine off about a month ago and put nitto drag radials on. what a difference. i highly recomend them. but if you keep those tires on you will spin no matter what you do. it doesnt matter how big they are. i had 315's also.

Yeah, the Sumitomos suck for traction. I have the 285s and they spin no matter what I do. Once you get some better tires, and if you add in the extra suspension stuff, you should be much better off.
