docobra'shave the same engine sizeas a gt's engine the 4.6L?

all 96-04 cobras have the 4.6L 281ci DOHC engine compared to our gt's SOHC 4.6L

so couldn't i just put some 4v heads and cobra intake to make it a cobra motor?(a long with other things)

you could, it would mean you'd have to change alot of things though, i believe you're better off just buying a cobra motor(or building one)instead of doing the head/intake swap.

I know a local guy with an 04 cobra, someone mentioned how quick it was for a 281, He pulled out his ford manual and showed us that it is actually a 280.

I'm not sure if this was a misprint or what, but it sure did say 280.

The only thing we can come up with is that the forged crank makes a slightly different CI.

lol the cobra motors, have stronger blocks than gt's, they can handle more boost. I know for a fact the 03/04's can take alot of boost. The 99,01's can also but maybe not as much. The 96-98's have stronger blocks as well but im not sure bout forged internals like the 99-04

only the 03/04 cobras have forged internals

280 or 281 lol. Divide 1 cubic inch by 8 (cylinders) you'll need a micrometer to spot the difference

ok just a windsor aluminum block thats 5 pounds lighter. it has stronger rod ends and bearings as well as anit friction piston sleaves with stronger rods
