Default Speedo Fix for 3.73's

Im putting 3.73's in on Friday in my 2000GT and i'm wondering if anybody knows what speedo gear to get to keep my speedometer acurate? is there a certain tooth count? Are these speedo gears a PIA to install????

You have a digital speedo. You need either a speedcal or tuner.

ok stupid queston, i had 430s and i went down to 410s i have a speed cal box in my console, does it automaticly change the speedometer or how do you get it to correct it???

Josh, if you have those new gears installed by a good shop, more than likely they'll program your computer for the new gears for free. Just ask them.

If your getting gears and not a professional at installing them, have a shop do it, otherwise you'll have gear whine and probably other problems, its not really a DIY. If you havent bought the gears, check on www.americanmuscle.com , they have kits with gears and tuner, the tuner can be used to tune your car for your mods and recalibrate your speedometer.
