Default Move K member forward?

The front wheels on my car seem to sit too far back in the fenders, I've looked at many cars, some seem to be like this too, most don't however. I've looked at my K member from every angle and can't find anywhere where it is bent or pushed back. The front control arms look fine, and each side of the car has the exact same wheel base. here you can see what i'm talking about: ( it looks slightly worse on the drivers side pic and slightly better on the first pic than it actually is due to the wheels being turned a bit to the left.)

The center of the wheels measure about 2 inches back from the center of the fenders.

How can I move the front wheels forward? This is what I'm thinking, loosen the entire K member and scoot everything forward. Here are a few pics of where the K member bolts on at the back, please point anything about that looks odd..

I am seriously considering buying a QA1 K member off of a friend for right at $200 bucks, its still new, never been used. Any thoughts on this fixing my problem?

This has been nagged at me since I bought my car and would greatly appreciate anyones advice.

Thanks

Neil

Have you owned the car since it was new? Looks like it was in a collision?

I would try doing what you said and see if it fixes it.

BTW, looks like you have some serious dents in them LTs!

Wow that is weird. That is a factory k-member isnt it? Maybe it got changed and was the wrong one. I dont think you can move that one that far forward. Looks like you gotta go about 2 inches from the photos. For about 400 bucks you can get a nice tubular. Id hate to do all that work and have it the same way though. If your buddy has the same yr car measure his and see if they are the same.

Buy a set of cobra A arms. they will move your wheels about 1" forward. They are made that way for better handeling. http://www.stangsuspension.com/store...?idproduct=670

Car ever in an accident? It would have to be hit pretty hard move everything back some. The bodyshop could have also gotten lazy and didn't bother to get it back to factory specs

I've heard aftermarket k-members move the tires forward a little bit, so your friend's may help. I would try that. Also, like said above, the cobra a-arms will help too.

Wouldn't CC Plates take care of that?? Its the caster that is out of adjustment. My driver side wheel is about an inch back from the passenger side but that is because i hit a curb and havent felt like installing cc plates to adjust it.

I have the QA1 k-member and A arms w/ coilovers. It moved mine up about 1/2 an inch but yours is so far back that i would move it more. I have another whole kit that im selling, same setup as i have on my car, if your interested. If you use the k-member and stock arms it will supposively move them further forward. Go to the QA1 website there is info on it. My front wheels are positioned more towards the front but it looks good. I'll get some pics up.

That does look nice...

yes, I bought the car wrecked, and yes it was hit in the front. But like I saide earlier no one can seem to find anywhere where anything is bent. Everything measures out exactly the same.

And 2000GT4.6- - That dent was in the headers when I bought it, any idea how it may have happened?

Which would help me more, buying the QA1 K member, or buying different A arms?

thanks for the help guys
