The only way I would be suspicious is if it's a GS-T or GSX. If it's a GSX then you may not be able to take him. Other than that, he's a putz in need of a serious spanking Ford style. Mitsubish themselves admitted that the Eclipse was never meant to be a high performance car, and even modded, they still suck nuts. Waste his **** every chance you get.

yah you're gonna take him. but on a different note, those eclipse turbos are pretty quick. i just went w/ my cousin today and he put a deposit on a 95 turbo 5 speed and i test drove it. man when that turbo kicks in watch out! it totally surprised me, it's slow from the stop but it sure does hit hard. i hate to say it, but i think a turbo eclipse is pretty near a stock gt. it did have a couple mods but i was kinda impressed.

Ok, there's a sapp at work who has a 2000 Eclipse GT[sm=smiley21.gif] and he wants to race me next weekend. I have 2000 stang GT and no mods yet cuz i just got it, just the K&N so far. We're both automatic tranny so what do ya think? I need to spank that a$$ cuz everyone and they're momma has an eclipse, but we all know only the chosen and worthy ones can own a mustang! Will I eat some rice next weekend?[sm=smiley20.gif]

ROTFLMAO...2000gt4.6, say what you may, but this turbo eclipse was quick. it must have a different turbo or something. i've never owned an import or a 4 cylinder car (and never will), but i was impressed w/ the little thing. i said it was "pretty near a stock gt". BUT, as you can see, i didn't state the year of the gt that it is close to.

RE: Will I Win??
2000 Eclipse GT 0-60... 7.2 seconds
2000 Mustang Gt 0-60... 5.4-5.7 ?
(both of these ratings are 5 speed, but im sure if u both have autos it will be similiar differences)
1.5 seconds up to 60... thats a lot.. I'm not sure how many car lengths but like 2000si said... if you lose you need to surrender your keys to him.
Id say surrender your keys to me.. but since i have the same car... we'll let 2000si become a domestic guy.

Not to derail the subject here, but I see you have a strut tower brace in your mod list. What does this do for the car, is it a strictly handling (re circle track) or are there other benifits?

RE: Will I Win??
well, 2000gt4.6, it reduces front-end flex by up to 40%. The advantage is that w/ hard launches and/or high hp, this will keep the front from twisting which is kinda a problem w/ unibodies such as ours. the brace is definitly worth the $120 and the car corners better too. the disadvantage is that it's hard to find a mam to throttle body pipe to fit under it w/o rubbing. the stock pipe clears, as does a densecharger. however in your case, i don't believe a c&l true flow fits under there. if you ever get a brace, be prepared to dump your c&l setup for densecharger or some other one that might fit. hope this helps.
