Will I Win??
Ok, there's a sapp at work who has a 2000 Eclipse GT[sm=smiley21.gif] and he wants to race me next weekend. I have 2000 stang GT and no mods yet cuz i just got it, just the K&N so far. We're both automatic tranny so what do ya think? I need to spank that a$$ cuz everyone and they're momma has an eclipse, but we all know only the chosen and worthy ones can own a mustang! Will I eat some rice next weekend?[sm=smiley20.gif]

LoL..He actually thinks he can which my buddies and I at work have a ball with. He says he raced a couple stangs and they couldn't keep up with him, but he's the type of guy that everybody has at the workplace, you know that guy that's so full of sh*t and makes up stories. He's just upset that I bought a mustang when he tried everyday to convince me to get the Eclipse. I drove a 2004 Eclipse GTS and then the stang i have, and it was no question. This past thursday, the Eclipse on the highway had a lot of trouble keeping up with me. I was thinkin about letting my girlfriend race him in her infiniti I30 which pulls 230hp so he can feel twice as bad. Rice is only good for eating.

Ive driven a few eclipses at my dealership and alot of auto gts, you'll waste him at any speed, and by waste i mean your really gonna hand him his ***. Those cars are no match for your car.

yah you're gonna take him. but on a different note, those eclipse turbos are pretty quick. i just went w/ my cousin today and he put a deposit on a 95 turbo 5 speed and i test drove it. man when that turbo kicks in watch out! it totally surprised me, it's slow from the stop but it sure does hit hard. i hate to say it, but i think a turbo eclipse is pretty near a stock gt. it did have a couple mods but i was kinda impressed.

The only way I would be suspicious is if it's a GS-T or GSX. If it's a GSX then you may not be able to take him. Other than that, he's a putz in need of a serious spanking Ford style. 
Mitsubish themselves admitted that the Eclipse was never meant to be a high performance car, and even modded, they still suck nuts. Waste his **** every chance you get.
