Default cobra engine....too good to be true??

check out this engine, it looks really dirty and i see some rust, but is it worth the price. I see cobra motors for ten times this amount selling sometimes.

Probably not. Especially with no warranty. There's a reason it's selling for $1,600.[sm=badidea.gif]

For 1,600.... Not bad I say..... The internals I would get rid off and sell to someone. Don't care how much just get rid of it.... send it to a machine or any shop that deals with motors.... The heads can be cleaned out, ported and polished.... The bottom end can be rebuilt with all forged or that super 4340 something steel that supposedly is stronger then forged. New Cams......

I can turn her into a killermotor with about 5 to 6 grand. Or a decent motor for like 3

I wouldnt buy that motor if your planning on just swapping it in your car, but those heads, intake, timing cover and the misc peices would be worth the $1600, just buy a new wiring harness from painless or ford and you will have a 4v.

+1 it probably has a bad rod or something, take it to a machine shop and have it bored over

Besides all that mechanical babble, look at his rating... only 305 feedback. I dunno about you, but im extremely cautious on ebay, i dont touch sellers with less than 1000.

I'd do it if you were going to go through it and build it, and the guy has 99% positive feedback. I dont really see someone selling motors having 1000+ transactions with different people. You do know you only get a star from new people. If you sell the same guy ten items at different times, thats still only one star.
