As far as giving you more horsepower, if frees up exsisting hp by better transfer of heat and friction reduction in the moving parts. Only the finest Mobil 1 synthetic for my baby!

Yup, I beleive it does... Did anyone ever watch that horsepower tv show when they dynoed a mustang I think it was a sn95 but im not too sure, as a baseline... Then they replaced all the fluids in the motor, trans abd rear end with royal purple. Then dynoed it again and it picked up 5rwhp. i swap my old stang at 100k miles to synthetic and it ran fine and didnt leak.
just get mobil 1 full synthetic and if you're paranoid about it leaking add in some engine restore stuff

I believe that synthetic oil does reduce the friction in the engine. This keeps the motor from fighting itself within, which will help in the long run. As far as using it in high mileage engines, I probably wouldnt due to the fact that that when that much thinner oil gets inside you engine to your seals, it can seep through. Its obviously not going to pour, but i probably would just stick to what you know. The car has 90k on it now, and hasnt blown up, so id say stick with that. I would definately start a new car off on sythetic though.

Full syn is gaurenteed to make more power to the wheels, but its nothing your going to notice
The main gain is loss of friction and heat, and thus less wear and tear on the engine.
It takes my car nearly x2 as long to heat up in the winter after the syn went in.

wait, im confused, how is this a question? all synthetic has that is different from regular oil, is the additives last longer, they have nothing that can increase power, dunno how you, or anybody got that idea.
edit: less friction = more power ... i suppose, but if you cant measure it, then technically it doesn't exist from a realistic standpoint.
