I'm really torn between trading my 98 GT for a 93 5.0. I'm really confused because I want to make my car faster, but I dont know if I shoutl just build up my car, or buy that 5.0. and work on that. Any suggestions ?

I would get a 99+ but my parents promised me that I would get a '06 cobra when I graduate from college, so I'm kinda just tryin to make something I can mess around with and race until I get my snake. most people say get a 5.0. because there are more bolt ons, but I decided to ask you guys since I listen to you guys more when it comes to stangs.

i think mach meant to say pre 99. but anyway i wouldn't trade. the prices are hopefully gonna drop for the 99+ 4.6 parts along w/ the previous 4.6s. and the technology is only gonna get better. just keep that 4.6 buddy.

I'm trading mone for an '88 or '90LX.... Cheaper car, cheaper/easier mods...Screw waiting, but in your case, why lose any money when you're getting an '06?

I would stay with the car that you have. There is alot of thing that you can do with a 98 GT. If you have to wait till 06 then keep the car you have. Also you don't know if the previous owner abused it. Stay.

I forgot to mention, my GT is an automatic, I want a 5 speed, the 93 is a manual. I really like the sound of a mustang downshifting and hearing the low growl of each gear, can't do that with an automatic....even if I do get louder pipes. The muffler shop guy told me that 5.0. engines sound better.
