Why do you think you have 31 spline? Stock is 28
If you need to put all this stuff into your car why are you putting stock back in there.
Causeit looks like the funds are already low...and he'd have to pop for a set of axles also...c-clip style, still set him back 250 or so...plus a aftermarket 31 unit....... And ,,he started off ,,with just a gear swap and re-bearing install(I believe)and it looks to be gettin complex...[8D]and costly...ouch

Couldnt have said it better myself lol. Yea... started with just a gear swap and new bearings, ended up needing new spider gears, planetary gears, LS clutches, new brake sensors, rotors, calipers, and pads. I think thats it... funds are running dangerously low. Does 'c-clip style axles' mean a c-clip is attached inside the differential? Because i remember watching the mechanic attach a c-clip looking thing when putting the limited slip back in to roll it out of the shop...

All this broke down after 100k miles though. If stock lasts me another 100k, ill be happy.

I'm not gonna worry about breakage on the rear until the 60's dip into the 1.50 range....LOL

Yea exactly. I have no intention of makin my car a powerhouse, so stock should do me just fine, dont you think?

I cant seem to find any planetaries or spidersthough.... Ebay has them for 31 spline all over the place (ALMOST bought some, but checked my mail first and seen that i have 28 [&:]), but cant seem to find any 28. If i cant find any i guess im going to have to just get a new assembly...which is gunna kill me. The carrier is fine and the bearings and sh*t are all fine, i only need the damn gears

YeahI think 28 is fine for some abuse and track time....I ran a stock chevy 10 bolt with stock 28 spline axles, mini spool....for 3 years @11.40's and 1.45 60's all day,,sold it to a friend for change and hes still running it,,,but,,its gonna explode,,,someday...At some point a 31 unit 31 axles will go into mine....and a rear end girdle.....but ...for now 28 will have to do..
