im about to buy a set of 410s from american muscle and im debating on wether or not to buy the gear/tuner combo... is it absolutely necessary that i buy the tuner or should i just hold off and have the shop i go to do all the tuning?

just wait untill you have a lot of mods then get it dyno tuned but i think if you bring a hand held there, the dyno tune is cheaper

no i bought both seperate but i got em both from american muscle. i like my sct and my gears so yea get the combo

If you do not want to spend that much, get a speed cal from Dallas Mustang.

its not really a question of affording it, but wether or not i actually need the tuner you know?

A tuner isnt just a 1 time use... its a tool you use it over and over. When you CEL comes on plug tuner in find the code go look up what the code means and fix the problem.
