I live in VA and this is the law...
NITROUS OXIDE SUPPLIED ENGINES
CODE: § 46.2-1088.4. Devices used to supply nitrous oxide to the engines of motor vehicles.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any motor vehicle on the highways of the Commonwealth if such vehicle is equipped with any device that supplies the vehicle's engine with nitrous oxide, unless the device has been disabled such that the supply of nitrous oxide is disconnected and not readily accessible to the source of delivery. Violation of any provision of this section shall constitute a Class 3 misdemeanor. (fine up to $500) (2004, c. 282.)
Same for colorado. Thats why you have to get black N20 lines and hid the bottle. Cops are non the wiser.

Just get some wire loom and cover the lines. Picture of me in the process of hiding everything.

I found the Ohio laws on it. It says if it is open it is illegal.Sec. 2925.33 Possessing nitrous oxide in or on a motor vehicle. [Effective 01/01/1997] (A) As used in this section, "motor vehicle," "street," and "highway" have the same meanings as in secÂ*tion 4511.01 of the Revised Code. (B) Unless authorized under Chapter 3719., 4715., 4729., 4731., 4741., or 4765. of the Revised Code, no person shall possess an open cartridge of nitrous oxide in either of the following circumÂ*stances: (1) While operating or being a passenger in or on a motor vehicle on a street, highway, or other public or private property open to the public for purposes of vehicular traffic or parking; (2) While being in or on a stationary motor vehicle on a street, highway, or other public or private property open to the public for purposes of vehicular traffic or parking. (C) Whoever violates this section is guilty of possessing nitrous oxide in a motor vehicle, a misdeÂ*meanor of the fourth degree.

Having the bottle open on the streets is illegal, but having N2O on your car is not.

any body every seen that issue of mm & ff where the hid the bottle inside the door and completely hid all the lines. I thought it was kinda cool but wouldnt it be a b!tch to change the bottle if every time you went empty you had to take your door apart.

I have been through HAZMAT school. I am thinking that if you have N02 in your car maybe you have to have a warning sign to travel with it in your car. interestingting topic...
