Common sense tells me that its illegal on the street. But, other sources disagree. Tennessee Highway Patrol has a interactive listing of all Tennesee code. Nowhere does it mention the words Nitrous Oxide.


My Dad is a traffic court Judge inTennessee. He says that its NOT illegal, aslong as you dont break anyother laws. IS this just in Tn?

Whats the verdict?Is it illegal to spray? to have the bottle on?Is it illegal to purge?

 

I've always wondered this too. While it may not say anything about it I would imagine that using it on the streets would be illegal since you have an intent to race/speed. Not sure about the purging though...

No, its not illegal. Exhibition of acceleration is illegal. It's kinda like saying having 500 HP on the street is illegal. No, its not illegal to have all that power, its just illegal to use it in a wreckless manner.

Well now that I think about it how would it be illegal to have since they could never prove you were using it? If they say something about the purge tell them your radiator is ****ed up

 

Yeah the saleen focus had it from factory. I've always heard it was illegal to have the bottle on but ive never read this anywhere.

CODE: ยง 46.2-1088.4. Devices used to supply nitrous oxide to the engines of motor vehicles.
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate any motor vehicle on the highways of the Commonwealth if such vehicle is equipped with any device that supplies the vehicle's engine with nitrous oxide, unless the device has been disabled such that the supply of nitrous oxide is disconnected and not readily accessible to the source of delivery. Violation of any provision of this section shall constitute a Class 3 misdemeanor. (fine up to $500) (2004, c. 282.)

 

I wonder if it's emissions legal..... and did the saleen really come with it from the factory? ive never heard that... theres one sitting at a dealer here in town... I should go look at it

 

Yeah the saleen n20 focus but its retarded since the second the bottle is hooked up whoops there goes your warranty.
