Default Short-shifter problems?

Heya guys, I was thinking of getting a short-shifter for my 98GT but a few friends of mine, whom I really trust, say that the short-shifters in T-45 trans have blow transmissions because of poor design. They said the shifter doesn't line up right and it blow out the gears when you shift. Has anyone every heard of this, or had it happen? I never have till the other day. Just want to know what you all think. Thanks!

Sounds like your friends are idiots and you really shouldn't trust anything they tell you.

Hehe wow, well I wouldn't call them idiots per say, but maybe missinformed. That's why I asked here for more info. Thanks for the help though.
