just imagine an ls1 in a mustang, that would be SWEET. probaly not worth the money though. why dont you just sell the setup you got, and put that towards a built motor and tranny for your car.
because i could probably do a straight trade at a local junk yard for a ls1 and tranny for my motor and tranny, and have it installed and then i'de be making more power for cheaper, plus i could probably get a cam too, meaning 400whp, and alot of room to go up.

Anytime custom fabrication is involved,,that your not doin yourself,,it gets real expensive..I paid 1200 for a custom set of headers for my last race car,...so,it prob gonna cost you way more than your think and alot more than you prob have,..IMO....good luck what ever you decide ...it would be pretty sweet though...

i would think headers are much harder to make than motor mounts.

The thing about swapping a LS1 into a mustang...

1. It's ghey
2. $$$$
3. It's ghey
4. Absolutly no support from the aftermarket
5. It's ghey
6. Results from a $$$/horsepower view
7. It's ghey

yeah, but if i can get everything done for less than the cost of a KB, i'll be very happy, because then i can get a big cam and have it installed, and be pushing near 400whp.
I really REAL:LY doubt that. In fact I can see the cost of the various parts & fabrications etc will easily wind costing more than TWICE what a KB blower would. Hell probably 3 x the cost of a KB

You would have hood clearance problems. Its too tall id think. If you see an F body the engine sits way back and way down

surprisingly, you dont have hood clearance issues and it actually fits pretty well. if you have ever looked under the hood of a camaro, you will notice that

a. it's much shorter in length
b. it's more shallow in depth
c. it's just stuffed in there

i found a guy selling his 94 ls1 mustang, and it looks like it fits fine, i'll go find the pic

http://www.corral.net/photopost/show...25&cat=503

the only thing i think i will have any trouble with is the gauges, but since my cluster doesnt really work to begin with, i dont mind getting rid of it.
