Default Tranny for 450hp

My uncle has a2003 Mach 1 auto.withProCharger and full exhaust. The car is not running correctly. It hesitates most of the time through the power band.We were told that it needs a Cobra air sensor. There is also a problem with the shifting because it does'nt shift when it redlines. It over-revs for a second and then shifts. We where told it would need a better tranny(for the 450hp). The tranny went out with 3k miles after the supercharer was put on. We then rebuilt the tranny withBorg Warner parts. Is this going to be enough?Wedid'nt test drive it yet. Will the cobra sensor fix both problems? My unclewants to keep the car an automatic. What tranny upgrades are there for me?

Thank for any help.

I betcha a shift kit would help the trans shift better. Kinda sounds like it is slipping from the description. Tune is going to help also

I think you'll definitely need a new tranny... autos in our Stangs are pretty weak. Also note that because the Mach has an auto tranny it doesn't have the forged internals of the Cobra. (Only manual Machs got the forged internals). So, the engine is weaker as well.

^^ Your wrong. Strictley peformance in houston has a 9.40 03 cobra with a 4r70w so they can be built for power. Also the 5 speed or autos didnt come with forged intals, only the crank.

My nephew started this thread. I am the owner of the Mach 1 he is referring to. It was tuned. The stock chip was removed and the supercharger chip was not installed. Instead, we used the sniper. The tranny did not shift correctly as soon as we left the dyno. We told we needed a larger mass flow sensor. ?????

The tranny was rebuilt and is still a 4R70W. I plan to have 2 separate NOS systems installed. My concern is the tranny being the weak point. Any advice.
