seems high to me. I bought my gears from american muscle for like 3 something but I wouldnt think the install would be another $300. Im having a friend put them in and im just gonna give him 100. He said he would do it for free but I gotta give him a little for helping me out.
My best quote around here is $500 for 4.10s, about $40 less for 3.73 just becuase of the cost of the gears. That'll include the install kit and fluid, and they do bearings on an individual need basis instead of making you buy all of them.
I live in AZ and the two mustang shops that I know of both charge $400.00 for the install and about 200 for the gears so to me that sounds about right.
The best thing is to try and find a good mechanic that can do it as a side job. I'm paying someone 150$ on Friday for 3.73s, and Truetrac install. everyone says he does great work- and he does these hookups on the side.
I was able to get my gears from american muscle, bearing kit, royal purple gear oil, ta aluminum girdle and install for 600 all together. install was $200 and no gear whine.
