run him from a 35, he will be in 2nd, and you will either A be in 1st for 5mph, or B be in 2nd and out of your powerband. depends on what roll your going from.

Probably not, it all depends on what MPH you are racing from. MY 4.10's help me out alot. Just keep your 3.73's

How would 4.10's slow you down from a roll? I don't quite understand what is so difficult to grasp about the concept of gears for everybody here.

A shorter rear gear will make your car accellerate faster than a taller rear gear in ANY GIVEN SCENERIO. No need for further replies.

Going from 3.73 to 3.90's wouldn't be worth it unless you are doing the swap yourself. Compensate with a taller tire, LCA's & be a REAL GEAR HEAD and go with 4.30's and leave nothing on the table.

if you are gonna change your gears from 3.73's to somthing else dont get 3.90's you wont feel a difference. yea like somone else said its different from different speeds. i know you have more first gear then me and its noticable. if you are gonna change it to somthing get 4;10s or 4:30's.. it wont be worth changin though. you will have to buy the gears, pay for install which can range from 300-500, then you gotta get a bearing kit which is like another 60. plus it will be VERY hard selling your old gears if you want to. people dont like to buy used gears. make sure you also get a good place to install they gears and have expierience or else you will have alot of gear whine if they dont shim it right. its not just a bolt on mod. those are just some things you can think about. personally i dont think it will be worth changing for that .1 or .09 seconds you MIGHT shave off your time.

hes not takling about slowing down its more of a top speed issue. i am the one that he races from a roll and he beat me every time from a decently fast roll but he had more top end because i ran out of gear. but i ran a better time then he did at the track from a stop.

Racing from a roll, you'll be at slightly different RPM's but it shouldn't be anything that will give a 3.73 car the upper hand. Still, you should be out running him from a roll.
