Don't have a Cobra, but is the clunk when shifting gears? If so I have that noise in my GT with 3650. A friend of mine also has that noise in his Cobra with T-56....

Although its an all-mighty terminator....it's still a mustang
That being said, you're going to hear random clunks/rattles/etc

no no no no! The IRS has some bolts that are tappered 14mm threads 12mm tapper.
You can also lube the drive line with a teflon lube ( I heard this froma freind in town).
The throw out bearing is bad in almost all of the terms. In some cases it has taken out the tremec.
The halfshafts are also suspect.

I was lookin for someone who has fixed it for some insite.

My TOB went bad around 20k miles. Ended up with a new TOB & Clutch from Ford. Took some fighting, but it was replaced.

No clunk in my IRS, just a ton of wheel hop.

Ya I'm just turning 20k now, if you go to the track much you might hear one of these. The clunk became louder after a couple of track visits.

Are you positive it's not coming from your transmission rather than the rear?

My T-56 clunks pretty goodbut my mounts are alright and I can feel the clunk coming from under my ***. I've only made 5 passes in this car, strange how I had no wheel hop @ the track, just wheel spin. However on the street it almost never spins, just hops. Weird.

That is strange! It has the tranny noise also but def. has a clunk from the drivetrain. I was reading svt perf.com and there is a bit of talk on this subject. My car has not wheel hopped yet, it just cooks the hell out of them. Maybe its the dif. pavement im in vegas, desert pavement dr's work like **** on a friday!
