Default Dissapointed about Spec 1 Clutch

Well guys i installed my spec stage 1 clutch about 200 miles ago and so far I am quite disapointed at how bad it chatters. It chatters really bad when reversing and in first gear and i dont see how i could have screwed up installing it. Is this normal for the Spec stage 1 or what could be doing this? I really dont feel like pulling the tranny again so hopefully it will go away if its just normal break-in procedure

I had a spec stage 4 in my supra and it chattered in reverse and any time I was going from stop to 1st.....
The spec will hold good power though....

my spec one chatters in nuetral... i think the throwout bearing is already busted and ive only had the clutch for like 700 miles... kinda sad that it keeps breaking.

Did you resurface/replace the flywheel? If not, you're going to have an extended break-in time. Plus, it's not really the miles, it's the number of engagements. My Centerforce smoothed out within 150 miles with a resurfaced flywheel (took it cruising, so there was plenty of clutch work).

It may be your pilot bearing causing the problem. Did you happen to replace that when you did the swap?

my spec 3 took about a month for it to really stop chattering, now it only does it if theres a driver error, lol - just stick with it - you'll be fine...

ok guys...thanx for the words of encouragement. I was going to ditch it and not bother with spec anymore lol. I resurfaced the flywheel and i did not replace the pilot bearing. I doubt it would be that because it appeared fine and the stock clutch did not chatter. 1st gear is starting to smooth out but reverse it killing me
