How slow are the 96-98 4.6 than the 99-04 4.6?

I was wondering because wheni first got my 02 gt i raced a 98 gt with full exhaust and i beat him pretty bad. At the time i was stock. so i was wondering if he was a bad driver or are those models slower...

stock 96-98 apparently run something like high 14's, while the 99+ run low 14's from all of the qt mile time threads i've seen around here.

With most people driving 99+ run mid 14's and most people run low 15's in 96-98.
