Default New 4.6 shortblock

I am looking into replacing my block with a new one from dssracing (www.dssracing.com). I want to run a heavy dose if nitrous (at least a 150 shot) and this would be the only real way to go about it. They offer a PROmod and a SUPERmod that both will hold plenty of juice. Of course I wantthe SUPER if the wallet can afford it, but the PRO may be my best option. Anyway, what else am I going to need to do to the car besides the new short block? They can put your choice of cam init as well as heads. Again, price will be a factor but emissions will not. Iknow I will need a new clutch and somesuspension upgrades to make the power stick, but is there anything else I am missing? It just seems like so many people on here areboosting their stock block for the same price that they could buy a new block that has more RWHP over the stock motor and can hold a heck of a lot more power adder down the road. What am I missing and why don't more people go this route?

upgrade your rearend and while your at it do your suspension, no sense in makin more power if you cant get the power you got now distributed properly

+1. Absolutely right. No point in being able to go fast if your just gonna sit there and light em up. Lift em up instead.

I know I would need suspension, but I need that on a stock motor and 100 shot, LOL. I am wondering if there are any major tranny issues with that much power as long as I don't launch at 5K or anything like that. Also, why don't I see others going this route instead of blower or turbo's? The cost is less than a turbo setup and about the same as a vortech. That and the new motor will run 350 or so RWHP and has plenty of room for a power adder to make much more than a blower or turbo can make on a stock block without fireworks.

With what specs, will the DSS motor make 350rwhp?

I still dont see why people use the juice.. You wear the **** out of your engine and juiced engines should get tons more maintinence (rings ect)than supercharged or cars without either..Granted the mighty N is cheap power but what are you without it ? And what about the possiblility of a screw up while hitting the juice ?
I could see a little sneaky pete for a street race but a full out NOS set up.You'd have to invest so much time and money in that car.

Spending that kinda money why not get a decent blower and some parts to help hook up.
You could run a 500 HP blown motor on the street and strip you cant run a 500 HP Juiced engine at both places.True on demand HP is why people dont do the NOS as much..

My bad, I hit the wrong key. The dyno sheet says 320, not 350. My question is still the same, however. Why don't people go this route? The cost is just under $3700. That is almost exaclty the same as a vortech kit.

You can add individual parts to the ProMod as I did if you don't need all the SuperMod items or just know what parts you want. The guys at DSS pretty much built the longblock from my list not what they advertise. And you can haggle a bit, make package deals with offers, or at least I was able to.

If you're engine isn't blown now, putting a $5k supercharger package on your stock motor will net more hp than replacing the engine with a $5k engine, at least untill it snaps. But then, you could transfer the supercharger to the new forged DSS engine with 8.5 to 1 compression and run 20lbs of boost.

My old motor spun a main before I got the DSS engine.

And how did you come to this conclusion??
Im gonna go ahead and assume you've never had nitrous before. Dont fill peoples heads with your bullsh!t comments. Where the hell did you get your information from? Fast and furious movie? cuz thats what it seems like.
